lore media collective is an online space for [q]poc creatives, activists, makers, digital organizers, and artists. together we grow our knowledge and audience base through:
we resist quitting or settling, we support one another through resource sharing, storytelling, and mentorship
we share our truth, we show up for ourselves and others in community to reflect introspectively, validate, and affirm
we leverage our resources, knowledge, and experiences to assist one another in advancing our creative initiatives
is this space for you?
lmc exists for those who want to be apart of advancing the collective of highly talented, highly sensitive artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives. we are a global network of dedicated doers committed to making the world a better place through our mediums. our hearts lead our work and our minds will it to be.
we couldn’t fit in if we tried, we have our chosen family or we long for one. we stand out because of our intellectual and creative abilities.
we are a collective of creatives working towards the common goal of making the world a better place in the communities we exist in. this is our time to love, to share, to welcome, to intentionally - take back the culture
if you will, join this community. share your lore. learn from others. learn with them. create a movement. create a safe space for people of color and other marginalized, silenced people like us where you exist. we all belong in the spaces we dream of. our plights are intersectional: students, immigrants, professionals, college graduates, entrepreneurs, visionaries, believers, mobilizers, catalysts - survivors. you deserve to be here.
just because we don’t know today, doesn’t mean we can’t learn by tomorrow.
some of us don't have much money, capital, property, or generational/blood family. that doesn’t mean we don’t have anything to offer. we are creators of culture, from hundreds of years ago, until present day. the others, they appropriate - but it will never be truly theirs. they take and try to make our culture, theirs. the money says they win, the truth is they don’t experience the real thing.
us working to make money with our talents will allow us to live the life we want, while changing the experiences of others around us
we share the culture that keeps us alive and gives us hope. they don't give us credit, so let’s come together and take it back. we know what it really means. we’ve experienced the fullness of it all - lets be honest, we want to share it. we just want to on our terms, we want autonomy over our work, that it is indeed ours. we’re the prototype, the original sample. the strategy we used to survive, they leverage to make money. inventing with little to nothing isn’t new to us, it’s the premise of our existence. surviving is innovative, therefore we are innovators in the purest sense.
our culture is founded on the suffering that allows us to take pride in our resilience. our dances. our traditions, our gatherings, our tactics, our strategies.
when you hear cultural appropriation be reminded of your value - they want to be us.
you are capable. you are worthy. you will overcome.
